Zega Cookware – Making Life Easier and More Fun in the Kitchen

Zega cookware aims to make life easier and more fun in the kitchen.

Australian-designed and made by the team behind the Magic Bullet blender, the app-enabled walkaway cookware is a smart, double wall thermal insulated design with SmartControl technology. It heats in minutes and cooks for hours off the stove, without gas or electricity – reducing energy use and saving time.

The SmartControl knob with digital thermometer locks into the lid of the pot, and it communicates with a smartphone app when it’s ready to cook. It’s also compatible with a steamer pot and grater that come with the pot, as well as an elevated meat rack.

How it works

The patented dual-wall thermal insulated design traps a thermodynamic layer of air between the two 18-10 stainless steel walls. This allows the cookware to retain heat for long periods, similar to a thermos, which keeps the food at a perfect temperature.

When it’s ready, the smart cookware automatically switches off the stove top, and if you have the connected version, Zega sends you an alert via Bluetooth, so you can take it off the heat and let your food’self-cook’. This reduces the amount of time spent stirring and preventing burns, while the self-basting lid ensures your food stays moist and succulent for hours after cooking.

The Bluetooth-enabled SmartControl knob is designed to work with the Zega recipe app, which has a series of recipes that range from ham hock and lamb shank stew to minestrone and Thai red curry. It’s not the most intuitive or compelling interface, but it gets the job done.
