The Zwilling Cookware Set to Buy
One of the world’s largest cutlery manufacturers also makes cookware, including fry, saute and stock pans. If you’re outfitting a new kitchen or replacing old pieces, here are the features to consider as you select your zwilling cookware set.
The most durable and versatile option is a stainless steel set. Stainless steel pans are compatible with all stovetops and ovens, are dishwasher safe, and typically last a lifetime. They’re a bit heavier than nonstick but are more durable, and they won’t scratch like the cheap aluminum sets you can find at discount stores.
If you prefer nonstick, Zwilling offers PTFE and ceramic options in addition to their traditional hard anodized aluminum. The PTFE-coated pans heat evenly and easily, release food well, and are easy to clean. They tend to have a less glossy finish than many other brands we’ve tested, though. The ceramic nonstick from Zwilling’s Spirit collection is more durable than the PTFE coating in other sets, and it holds up well to regular use with metal utensils.
Most of the zwilling cookware sets we tested feature a V-shaped handle that’s riveted on to the pan for a secure grip. Some, like the Vitale, Aurora 5-Ply, and Clad CFX collections, also have welded handles that stay cooler to the touch. We like this design better than the Y-shaped handles found on some other sets because it’s easier to maneuver, especially for taller people.
